SHAKE (Secure Hash Algorithm KECCAK) is part of the SHA-3 standard and is an extendable-output function (XOF). Unlike traditional hash functions, SHAKE can produce outputs of arbitrary length. SHAKE128 offers 128-bit security strength, while SHAKE256 provides 256-bit security strength. They are suitable for scenarios requiring variable-length hash outputs, such as key derivation and random number generation.
